1936 (14th Feb) cover with typed label address to USA bearing 1d green KGV John Ash imprint block with all 4 stamps tied by full "THURSDAY ISLAND QUEENSLAND" cds. This island was first port of call for vessels leaving New Guinea & a meeting point at which transfers of mail could be made. Some edge wear with slight soiling but nonetheless, highly collectable.
