1857 registered cover to Switzerland bearing strip of what would have been 4 x 1854 1/- blue imperfs but one & a half have been removed leaving only a vertical pair & a half. Interesting cachets incl Reg'd 25 SP 1857, the same date as French transit marking at Calais where it has been handstamped CHARGÉ & figure "6", whilst on reverse is light crowned handstamped of HEPBU(RN SPRINGS) VICTORIA JY 18, suggesting some irregularity in application of registered date stamp. Unusual & remains attractive in an odd sort of way!
