1931 (9th Dec) Inaugural England to South Africa Christmas Flight by Imperial Airways Springbok illust cover. GB 1/- KGV tied by Wilton Road cds (this was the sub-post office serving Imperial Airways & only mail posted there & at Croydon was carried on the first leg by the "Heracles" with the bulk of the mail sent ahead to Paris by rail). Johannesburg arrival b/s dated 21 Dec 31. Only 75 letters carried the entire route to South Africa. Scarce.
