1897 (17th Sept) promissory note for £9/10/- with violet rubber handstamp of "THE WESTERN AUSTRALIAN BANK NORTHAM", "payable at WA Bank Northam" in m/s at base. 3d lilac revenue cancelled in m/s. The 28/8/98 date was within the 12 months allowed to redeem the value, at the same time explaining the large number of creases accumulated during that time!
