Postcards 1914-1918 WWI cards to Sis or Cis Nelson, Broomehill WA. She was the daughter of the Broomehill Station Master & would have seen many of the local lads going off to war & one can imagine her shouting "send me a postcard!" as they left. Many of them did! This collection of b&w & colour cards starts with photos of herself & family members followed by c120 from various soldiers incl a few "passed by censor". Several of the portrait cards are annotated as to "killed in action". Interesting collection with a poignant historical angle. Suggested viewing even if this is not your area of specialisation. (c140)
