1928 (Oct) Europe to America Graf Zeppelin hand painted preliminary artwork probably for a medal or badge. It shows the airship over the globe with route & wording around design reading "GRAF ZEPPELIN OKT 1928 EUROPA-AMEIKA FLUG AMERIKA". Set on grey backing card with "Carl Poellath" & "Schrobenhausen" at top. Carl Poellath was the company active during the lead up to & during WWII in designing, engraving & producing coins, medals, plaques & badges incl those for both the Olympic Summer Games in 1936 in Berlin as well as for the Winter Olympics of the year in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Framed by black card with border measuring 48mms x 43mms. Most attractive & a wonderful introduction piece to a Zeppelin exhibit.
