Sir Charles Kingsford Smith An amazing opportunity to have some pages from his personal photo album with the b&w photos annotated in his own hand writing. Incls one taken on board the "Europa" ship "Self, Baroness Kalckrewth (or something like that). Dr Hagemann + John Stannage. We four used to play tennis a lot" & another of the "real German baroness doing clay bust of yours truly. On "Europa"" plus two photos taken on 23rd June prior to his Ireland to New York flight with one titled "The evening before starting. Saul, "Doc" Maidment, self + Johnny Stannage". Also other b&w photos of the "Southern Cross" & individuals but not from the album or annotated. The 7 originals are on black album pages with contemporary photo corners plus a 2d used KS issue below one photo. Ex Frommer & not offered before. (plate 2)
