1940 (4th June) Sydney to Treviso, Italy Bank of NSW 1/9d metered Air Mail cover addressed to The Manager Banca Commerciale Italiana with "RELEASED BY CENSOR" vertically in violet at left & boxed "Undeliverable Return to Sender" at base. Oval Bank of NSW received 30 JUL 1940 in violet on reverse. "Cover returned due to Italy's declaration of war" in pencil m/s. Lovely example of early WWII interrupted mail.
