Great Britain 1935 (25th Oct) 4½d KGV embossed London Registered Letter uprated to 6/1½d incl 1/- block of six. Addressed to Melbourne & carried on Imperial Airways flight IE387 where "Astraea" when landing on 2nd Nov at Rangoon, skidded on a wet runway & crashed through the boundary fence slightly damaging the starboard wing tip & cabin floor. The Captain was hurt & the mail load was transferred to "Arethusa" departing two days later. Melbourne 10 NO 35 arrival b/s. A significant incident for which very few are recorded to Australia.
