Singapore 1953 (2nd May) Crash of BOAC Comet. First jet plane to crash that was carrying mail. 43 passengers & crew died. Singapore 20c printed "Registered Letter" uprated with Malaya Singapore 10c KGVI tied by Singapore 1 MAY 53 cds's for service to England. "SALVAGED MAIL "Comet" Crash, Near Calcutta. 2nd MAY 1953" cachet in purple next to address. Condition reflects disaster.
