1937 (3rd Aug) Crash cover recovered from wreckage of Sikorsky S-43 NCI5065 "Santa Maria" en route from Argentina to USA which crashed in Mosquito Bay, Panama during a tropical rain squall with 14 lives lost. 20kg of mail was salvaged, dried in a bakery & forwarded. "Recovered from Plane N.C. 15065 Aug. 3, 1937 Cristobel, C.Z." in place of stamps that had floated off.
