1898 (23rd May) Perth to England plain cover with Official coat of arms embossed in red on flap cancelled at top with 2 x "SHIP MAIL ROOM" duplex cancels (Dx GPO-a index 1 rated 1-2). Underlined "OFFICIAL PAID" in violet ink below. Neighbouring "Governor of Western Australia Frank Stamp" (K. W22001) in violet ink with "Government Works" Department oval h/s in blue lower left. London E.C. arrival b/s dated JU 27 98. Showing its age with toning front & back & roughly opened with torn flap but remains collectable & a rare survivor.
