1932 (12th Dec) "BERTRAM ATLANTIC EXPEDITION" printed env with 3d Airmail tied by Darwin NT cds's & signed in red by Hans Bertram. He left Darwin on the return flight after his earlier forced landing & ultimate rescue 6 weeks later. He again crashed , this time in Sourabaya, finally reaching Berlin on 17th April 1933. Why this example addressed to Wellington NZ has a London F.S. 8 DE 37 b/s is a mystery. We presume it was returned under separate cover as no other postal markings & in very good cond. The closest AAMC number is 242, Cat. $1750
