1927 1½d Canberra on small pres card (115mm x 90mm) signed above "Albert". Endorsed on the reverse "This Canberra Commemorative Stamp was autographed by H.R.H. the Duke of York (later KGVI) on his visit to Pinjarra, W.A. on May 19th 1927 at the request of….." & signed by the WA Governor at the time, Colonel Sir William Robert Campion with "'late II H.W.O (SQ.M.S A.R.C.)" added below the signature. Under this in original m/s, "Witnessed by :- ..." & signed by Brigadier George Brumfitt Gibb Maitland DCM (4th Light Horse Regiment) who was the Dukes equerry on this trip. Most unusual with a local providence having remained in the family since 1927. This would compliment a 1927 Canberra display and likely unique. Exc cond with contemporary newspaper clipping illustrating the autograph.
