1942 (26th Feb) Melbourne to Batavia cover intended to go on the Horseshoe route but as the Japanese invasion of the Dutch East Indies prevented the service, it was hand stamped "POSTAL SERVICE SUSPENDED RETURN TO SENDER". "Opened by censor" tab at left. Dead Letter Office Melbourne 25 MR 42 cds on reverse in red. Opened on 3 side for display.
