South West Africa 1897-1961 MUH/MLH & good to fine used written up on leaves in quality binder with matching slipcase, starting with 1897 ovpts on Germany used to 20pf (hyphens either side of "Sudwest"), 1898 both MLH & used sets of 6 ovptd "Sudwestafrika" (except 25pf which has the former ovpt), 1900 Yachts to 5m MLH (2m used), 1923 ovpts on South Africa, setting 1 with 9 pairs to 5/-, setting 3 to 1/3d, "Zuid-West" & 14mm between lines of ovpt to 1/3d incl 2d lower margin pair with missing "T" in "WEST" (SG 3b, Cat. £325) plus setting 3 "Zuidwest" 2/6d pair x 2. Also setting 1 with English only singles set of 12 to £1 & extra £1 MLH single, setting VI (12mm "Zuidwest" & 12mm between lines of ovpt) to £1 pairs incl shades of 1d, 3d & 6d (Cat. £600+) before 1926 & 1927 ovptd Pictorial pairs to 6d. Noted 1927 4d used singles & MLH pairs plus Meinert perfs (3) & 1927 Pictorials ovptd MUH/MLH pairs to 10/- plus to 5/- & then 1927/30 SWA complete to £1 with the latter & 1/3d singles, others in pairs with set also in used pairs to 1/-. 1930 Airs MLH & used in both ovpt sizes before 1931 Pictorials to 20s MLH pairs incl Airs & used in pairs to 20s (most in vert pairs). Also 1935 SJ MLH & used, 1935/36 Voortrekker SWA ovpts MLH & used plus basic South Africa set on 1938 cover. Also 1938 SWA Cent set used & on cover, 1939 Huquenots MLH & used, 1941/42 War Effort MLH & used, 1943/44 "bantams" & 1/3d all in pairs (½d & 1d triplets) plus with advert selvedges & then complete with UPU 3d "Stars in sky" MLH & "Lake in East Africa" used varieties. 1960 change of wmk set is used only & then continues with a good range of Officials & PD's MUH/MLH incl 1931/61 sets complete, plus 1960/61 sets in blocks of 4 MUH. Range of covers incl 1928 taxed (2) & other oddments with 1931 20s in vert strips of 4 & 3 with alternate "Inkorste" & Revenue" ovpts on piece. Noted 1916 S. Africa ½d postcard used with Swakopmund cds, a 1898 10pf German S.W. Africa postcard to Germany & 1917 censored cover with 1d South Africa cancelled Luderitzbucht.
